X7 ;D, mine'll do about 80-85 on the flat.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

...has recently (last 5k miles) had a inj pump (650 bucks) .... this rabbit will go 100mph. not quickly, but it will.

Maybe the pump job was done by Giles  :)

I think when after i do some sorting out on my 89 NA Jetta it "might" could do 100 or close enough - with original stock exhaust and stock breather.

It'll go 40 in 2nd and 60 in 3rd now, when i do italian tune ups.

How high does the speedo read? My '82 reads up to 85mph and my '84 gasser reads to 95mph.

speedo reads 100. it will go 75 in third gear. it has a brand new fuel pump. somebody messed with it. it smokes a little and has lots of power for an n/a. im not going to go that far out of my way to prove it goes 100mph. either believe me or think im a liar. i really could care less.

my old rabbit went 83 mph down a hill on the governor in 4th gear. this car damn near does that in 3rd.

this rabbit has had intake and header added, no gov mod yet, but its coming. full throttle stop is gone also.

why would i claim my slow rabbit went 100 if it didnt?

Jeremy - yes, i continue to say n/a rabbits are not quick or fast. drive my 1.5 td.. you will never think the same about an n/a diesel. 100 mph is slow. and it takes a very long time to go that fast. but it will. i about shat when i looked down and saw the speedo buried..

remember guys.. TALL GEARS!!

I think I am going to start believing him, he DOES have a valid case :P. I just find it hard to believe because our accent was getting hard to get to 100mph before we traded it in. (could of been I was driving it since new ::))

75 in third would be a tad over 4500, I'll believe you, only because your such an honest nice guy ;) That pump definitely has the gov mod.

Also, I do not compare a fast N/a to a fast TD or even a slow TD.. just faster than a stock N/a. I drive in town and it's perfectly capable of what I need it to do.. but its deff gettin a turbo soon :P I'm gonna start building the other 1.6 I have in the garage for when this one blows up lol

im waiting till its time to change the oil, then its getting the boost :)

i have a K24, and a VNT17 at my disposal.. my ride is gonna get boosted, unless it comes alive when i put the 2" exhaust on it. but i dont think its going to be anything like my TD.. K24, turned up n/a pump, and a shot of N2o should be pretty fun..

and i will try and get you guys atleast a picture of my speedo one of these days @ 100 mph, before its boosted...

Whats the tranny code? Don't say GC, cause thats a diesel trans. You must have a gasser trans. Maybe a GP code?

"4A (1984 Diesel Rabbit only)    -   3.94  3.45  1.75  1.06  0.70"

i love the way this trans is laid out gear wise.

same as what the old red bunny had and it was a complete dog until I opened it up. The gov mod, intake, and exhaust it was a freeway runner for sure.

4A is probably my favorite gear box. I had one in my 84.

The pump has been messed with surely. Stock fueling at 3800 rpm would be %20

I don't understand how you are doing your math.

As you can see on my stock 1.6NA 3800 is still pulling.

Dunno Ty-guy what I've gathered on my travels is the governor starts limiting at ~2800 and is fully cut by 3800-4000. Apparently not?

From your dyno, it doesn't even begin to cut until 4250.. if this is the case, then why do we do the governor mod? If at 3800 the engine is still seeing full fuel then why can't my taller geared FF 3.89 final and .71 5th do more than 85mph?

Kev was this 100mph run on stock intake and exhaust? I can't remember if you said..

From what I have gathered is that fuel is starting to be cut, but it will still make power. I could be wrong but the way it fuels would be on a bell curve. The final fueling should be what it was at the point it was starting to be cut or close to it. I think total fuel cut would be around 5,300 as that is where the ceiling is on free rev right? It is all interesting and I can say I 100% believe him as my flat red rabbit would hold its own with my GTI. My GTI would have the flat red on take off but I know it would have had it on the top. I am pretty much redline at 80MPH with the 2H in the GTI :D
