Nice Rabbit!
Is there some kind of injection system hooked up the intake? Looks like there's solenoids hooked up to those two lines.

So boys...

got the LOL (nitrous oxide) hooked up today. and let me tell you what, it is friggen sweet. it definitely IS insta-boost. its hooked up so that WOT triggers the spray. i have an on/off switch under the dash. and the bottle sitting on the back seat for right now. and its very convenient to reach back and turn it on. ;) it really is amazing the power increase from when its on, compared to when its off. almost doesnt smoke when you have the n2o going.

but, occasionally it misses at higher rpms. am i just feeding it too much nitrous? or is it secondary injection happening from the 135 bar n/a injectors? its not constant, just a slight stumble/pop at higher revs..

How high of revs Kevo? Maybe your experiencing Valve float? or the rollers floating in the pump not contacting the cam-plate...?  What are you doing to this poor engine! ;)

so it goes like a Raped Ape HUH!? AWESOME!

nah, its not valve float or roller float i dont think. ive spun my TD engine way higher than this and never had any problems. it pops/misses while its still pulling. almost like a miss fire, but it doesnt really pop out the exhaust. and it wont do it unless i use nitrous.. is it biasing one cylinder too much? secondary injection? just too much nitrous?

Re: About to go get my new ride... TURBO!

well, i put the VNT on the 84 yesterday, and now its a rocket.. faster than my black car with the intercooler. lot less turbo lag also, its a tire melter just like the last one.. only running 15 psi, on a CRANKED up fresh n/a pump and injectors. it will blow a little smoke off the line, but then just cleans up and almost loses traction.

it still amazes me that i turned boosting an engine into an afternoon project. it went from n/a in the morning, to TD before dinner. even fitted the K24 most of the way on there just to figure out it doesnt fit. no easy way to fab up a down pipe at the time.

it has no intercooler and would still own my black 1.5td. has 5 psi less boost also. this one maxes out at about 20 psi. but its a rocket. if you listen closely, you can hear the tires squealing all the way thru 2nd and 3rd gear. not spinning lots, but just not completely hooked up.

it has a n/a fuel pump, and the turbo likes it better. i like it that i got all my power off the line, rather than waiting for the LDA to kick in. when it was still n/a, you could make the highway disappear behind you. now it just boosts and goes. used to never gain speed going up hills. now i can go up all the hills around here and actually gain some speed. you were lucky to be going 50 mph over any of the hills, now you can be going 50 at the bottom, get on some boost, and before you know it, look down and the speedo is pointed to 80 mph.

Sounds like a really great car.
And you're having such a good time with it.
Win/Win

I'm just hoping you don't blow the lid off of it anytime soon. lol

pretty sure the lid is safe on this engine. i made a high speed run up a 3 mile long hill at 90mph w/18 psi the whole way up. i wanted to make sure all the boost hoses are gonna last. and that my car isnt gonna burn down. but it was fine. i really need an intercooler tho. i can feel it get slower as the boost builds. 10 psi pulls hard, and 15 really doesnt pull much harder.

maybe I missed something, homemade vnt manifold or a direct bolt in from something else? something other than your 1.5td...  ;D

are you un-aware that a us-spec VNT has a manifold cast right onto the turbo? there is no need for a manifold. it already has one. it is a turbo off a 01 ALH tdi engine. it is indeed the turbo off the 1.5 engine. most of the turbo setup is.

sorry, it's late and I'm stupid. I was trying to ask "what did the VNT originally come from, and did you have to modify anything to make it work on a rabbit?"  ;D

I assumed it came from the 1.5, but wondered where originally. and yes, brainfart on the vnt/manifold combo. forgive me please it's past my bedtime.
