its a CS van engine, a later one i think.. and it has every bit of its 52 hp. most powerful un touched n/a rabbit ive ever driven. has no problem going 65-70 up hills. the trans is making noise

and i was really happy it had such a sweet 4 speed.. nice .70 4th gear, but 2 pints low on oil..
no, theres no turbo on it YET. but i did throw together a 20 minute bigger, better intake. and im going to be putting on a header in the next few days. i have a brand new header, and all the stuff to put it on with. why not right? anyone got any reason as to why i should use something else besides the header? im aware that its eventually going to crack off, but im gonna build a block brace to help out as much as it can. and i cant stand how quiet it is. its so quiet i cant even tell if its running or not at highway speed. haha.
i traded my red 1980 rabbit C gasser for it. car didnt even run. they thought this diesel didnt run either. but it runs good enough that it will start COLD with a 3/4 DEAD battery, barely enough juice to light up the LEDs on the dash. rrrRRRrrrr.. then it rattled to life. i about shat myself.. i know how picky diesels are about their batteries being charged..
other good news, it has recently (last 5k miles) had a inj pump (650 bucks) timing belt, struts, strut bearings, brakes, and a bunch of other stuff (came with a pretty good book of receipts to the total of about 2500 bucks worth of parts and work) this car was such a good deal even my dad was a bit excited about it, and he does not like VWs very much. oh yea, i believe no one broke 100 mph with a stock n/a diesel on the other thread? this rabbit will go 100mph. not quickly, but it will.
Update - it has the shifter cover under the car. this really is a very complete car.
