Hey guys, Just bought a mk2 1.6 n/a and it needs a little love. But pretty sure pump timing is off, but before im able to adjust it I need the REAR injection pump bolt and nut. For some reason it doesn't have one. I Know that if I loosen the front three the tension on the T-Belt will loosen.
So does any one have a spare rear injection pump bolt and nut. please let me know ASAP.
Thank you
Tim

The one underneath?
There is a bolt from the right and on the underside to the left there should be a cone shaped nut that is special.
I would definately get that on the car, but you can adjust pump timing still if you just crack the other enough to be able to smack the pump body with a mallet slightly.
Sadly I don't have one to give you, they are all mated up to blocks on the shelf

Yea the one on the underside of the right side of the pump. The one with the special nut.

If you can't get one thru dealer or I can't get one at vw shop I will sell mine
I'm out of town right now so I can't even confirm that I have one

Take an old bolt and cut the head off so it fits into your drill.
Put a nut on it, then another so the last one is flush with the end of the bolt.
Now run the drill Double-nutted bolt) up against a grinder wheel and round-er off!
I went to buy one from a fore mentioned site and they want 16 bucks for the silly thing!.

I will try that. Seems simple and straight forward. Buy your going to want a longer nut right? A standard nut seems short to use.

Finding a longer nut could be difficult - may as well spend 16 bucks at Jim Ellis.
Just a standard one will work. I don't think it needs to be as fully radiused (is that a word) as the stock nut. I think the concept is to get it to lock-in/center when you tighten it. For the price, it's worth a shot.
