is there any particular reason you used ARROW shaped flame paths in the piston?

or is that a secret? one of those "if i told you, i would have to kill you" type of things?

LOVE reading about your work..

im in the process of fitting a VNT20 to a 1.6L engine, in a mk2 Jetta.. should be fun.

but not as fun as the monster you are building!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

jep, piston is ceramic coated top and teflon coated skirt.very slippy   ;D
engine every bearing is allso teflon coated.

cylinder is honed extra fine stone.

Some radiator fitting:

And engine fitting :

My block is at the machine shop now getting the same coatings put on....whenever the machinist finally gets around to doing it. The coating for bearings here isn't teflon, but some "slick coat" stuff that is sandable when cured as I understand, but still very slick.
The main question I want to know is did you have the IM shaft bearings coated too? I wondered how that would end up if someone did.

the bearings would have to be cut over-size on the inside, to allow for build up of the coating material. the person, or company doing the coating would have to know how thick each layer of coating were, and how many coats were to be used, to get a rough number on how much to cut them.

or am i just over thinking things?!

I have been very busy and I've beentrying to get projects completed. Wife's car should be ready to start up in a few weeks time. Still need to do some cooling and diesel lines.Waiting for dyno results as I know that it will be very fast
Some time ago I did 1.9 tdi engines for two friends and got them tested on the dyno, at last
engines were both 1.9TDI, another everyday car, and the other a bit more track-oriented
