Hmm I couldn't check the link at work, but that isn't my car. That is a 524td and mine is actually the 3 series E30 Chassis with the same engine in it as that car would have had. Mine is also a 5spd

I guess a few lol! It seems they like to be rear ended too! Bastards not paying attention taking out these museum pieces....It hink I may fit extra bright tail lights and a 3rd brake light as mine does not have that feature.

That is just resting on blocks not 100% trimmed in that picture so it looks alot worse than it is now.

He noted there are only a few spots with gaps and the rest will line up there won't be any need for much else other than welding and grinding afterword. I'm not much of a metal worker so I can't get into the specifics since that is his forte.

just talking with him on msn, he says he's going to butt weld it then add additional metal where there is anything strutural to reinforce that area (he already has one of those tools). Yes Chris is into serious hours on this car, I will owe him my 3rd born

Ahhh, cool, didn't realize it wasn't trimmed all the way yet. The fact that its an outside corner makes it a lot easier to get it to fit right, I have an awkward inside corner/floorboard/footwell to patch in my vanagon, not totally sure how I'm going to do it yet, very accurate measurements seems like the best way to go so far.

Yes Chris spent maybe 3 days measuring

after each little trim he measures again so it is a slow process indeed.

this car was at my previous place of employment since late 05 so it couldn't be same car. different vin too

It does now

I bought one on ebay from California, it has the nice solid rubber bushing already installed too. 2.93 rear same as the stock one actaully, just LS.

In other news, I appear to be going away for a few months, so I will be able to help Chris even less than I have been already

I will likely be leaving early Jan to come back mid May, if my away period works I'll be moving to the Trenton, ON area.

The ETA 2.7L engine has the same strok as m21 and the owner/manufacture said according to his books his scraper will fit my bottom end. Seems like a great fellow to deal with and if there are issues it is just a small piece of steel that can be filed as needed.

Actually the turbo builders will use a m21 crank or the 2.7L crank in the "stroker on a budget" builds.
