my bad, I thought they were some sort of "enhanced" 5 hole nozzles, not alot of detail out there on them as of yet. I'll have to see. I spoke to Charlie last night as well and he let me know that they are currently "out of stock", so I'd be waiting...but I want to get my order in as well. So...we'll see here. Its a decision to make
As far as the pump...and breaking pressure. Stock bar on my current 1z/AHU injectors and the Sprint 216's I'm running is 190bar if memory serves me correctly. With the additional nozzle size of the R520's, I'd def. want to jump the bodies up to around 280bar or so to really make them work nicely with my 12mm pump which is DI specific. I should have bumped them to at least 220bar with the 216's as it is...but I never ran the car ALOT and IMO, its alot of work for the pump. I think it'll like the higher breaking pressures once the R520's are installed.
I'm not running any sort of a hybrid IDI pump, def. not the pump route I wanted to go and I wanted something I felt better better and had to try as a "first" anyways. Which was the use of the Cummins 4bt pump in the car and Karl Mullendore and I, on this side of the pond were the first ones to get them up and going from what I have seen any detail on. Its as of late you've started seeing alot more of them due to the detail in the engine build thread I had and just standard inquiry. Karl is even making/selling them now. Wish I had the cash to back me up in that venture! Could have made some money!
Anyways... power goals... well Malone, you know how the motor is built...it'd probably easily stand for around the 200hp mark if I wanted...though, in an MK1, that kind of power/torque would be insanely useless....to a certain degree.
Either way....options. I'd be interested in seeing "what" the new nozzles will be all about and whether they will indeed outperform the R520, etc. Without more info and pricing...makes the choice hard at the moment. Though...suppose the money can burn a hole in my pocket for a month or so...
