any reasons for a rough idle on a 1.6 td? my car is at 1000-1100 idle and it seems rough, and i know before it seemed fine and i had at liek 700 and i couldn't even feel it, it's not missing or anything and it runs strong... could be injectors or maybe bent valves or something?

It's been cool out here lately, glowplug out?
rough warm or rough cold?
What kind of fuel have you been running?
How much boost were your running last night?
Pull an injector and see if the seal is carboned up (bad spray pattern will result rough idle but smooth driving)

i know both trans and the front mount are all good, and the passenger side should be decent as i remember when we did the motor swap, it does it warm and cold, but it's a relatively new thing. so i wouldn't want to think it's the injectors...

Run a compression check and see if you have a shot cylinder

My engine had a really rough idle after i overheated the thing, turns out i had warped the head and scored a piston. The thing ran but it was rough.

I replaced the front mount and the passenger side mount on mine and it really made a difference. I couldn't tell til I had them out side by side how much tighter the new mount was. If it's just at idle and not when the rpm's are up then I would replace mounts.

right before I had my engine fixed from the overheat, it would shake/vibrate pretty bad. it just kept getting worse too

i will add that my older '86 jetta td vibrated pretty bad. we're talking some mad dash vibrations. i thought for sure it would vibrate itself to death  but other than hard cold starting, it just kept purring along! it went to its grave before i could kill it myself though
turbo in that thing was weird too... kicked in at 100km/h and brought me up to 110km/h hehe try explaining that to the officer... and i attribute all of that to bad compression. hopefully your motor doesn't have bad compression
