That's a VW LT28.  It's line a Vanagon, but bigger, and has a D24Turbo IDI  like My Volvo.
That by far is the most expensive D24  powered vehicle I have ever seen for sale.
I think if it were Syncro, the price might be right.

That would be an early LT28 yes...

I just completed the import on my 1990 LT31 Florida (Westfalia built).   The non turbo version is very slow, and not desirable.  Good candidate for a D24TIC Volvo swap.   These are very solid trucks, front engine/RWD.  They were the German equivalent to our Chevy/Ford 1/2 ton chassis.  28 = 2.8 tonne max weight.  The LT28 campers are easily overloaded, which is why I searched out the LT31.  The later Florida's had a very nice updated interior.  See pictures of mine here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/uberhare/sets/72157631914012322/  Sorry I haven't put up an interior pictures.  Much nicer than a vanagon to cruise & camp in.   Mine has a queen size bunk up top.

That early LT28 is overpriced for what it is.  It is probably worth 2500Euro plus shipping/import fees.  There is another (overpriced) Florida for sale on thesamba for $29k  .

The cost of campers has skyrocketed in the last decade.  The later 86+ 2WD Westies if clean and straight typically sell for $15,000 or more.  Clean straight Syncro Westies typically go for more than $30,000 with some private sales of converted tricked out vans going for more than $60,000.  I'm not talking GoWesty sales which are downright nuts - some at $100,000+.  Although I'm not at all up on what LTs go for, I don't find $14,000 to be at all surprising.

If you have ever put fuel in a 'real RV' for a lot of driving, it starts to seem like a minor investment... 
I think the 32 footer I had would be about $595 to fill the tank, and it got 7 MPG going downhill.  21,000 miles of fuel =$14000
 To be fair it did pretty much crush the hills.
