Yes, but not the split type, it was a one piece seat back.  I believe the point of the conversion is to gain the split feature which to the best of my knowledge was not available on the MK2.

mk2 Golfs and GTIs had 60/40 split rear benches..

mk2 Jettas ALWAYS had a solid, non-folding rear seat..

FWIW, Golf and Jetta seats, and brackets are 100% different..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

my 85 GTI has 60/40 split

my 86 Golf has the same..

come to think of it, my 2dr 85 golf with auto trans and no sunroof had a single piece rear seat, much like a rabbit..

all the rest have been 60/40 splitties..

is the 60/40 more common, or the single piece?

The MK2 Jetta Syncro had the split seats  ;)
