also known as Prothe and hansdieselparts and one or two other names?.Some parts are questionable, as mostly made in China, however some people have had success with some of his parts. Always worrisome when someone uses more than one name for the same company.
Do a search here for what others have said.

I have heard the bare cylinderheads are ok. Also the pistons (not rings). I have personally used the idi injector tips without problems.

I used the Miata site and when the head for the injection pump wouldn't develop pressure I was able to return it.  Granted it did cost me shipping to do that but the man did stand by his product and replaced it for me.  If I had known then what I know now about rebuilding an IP I wouldn't have damaged the pump and head in the first place.  Oh well, live and learn.

that statement, for the most part, is an oxymoron..

but on the other hand, there are a COUPLE good parts from him.. like was stated the pistons (not the rings that come with them) are of decent quality, and so are the head castings..

the whole rebuild injection pumps are GARBAGE.. ive only heard of one actually running, and it didnt run for long, i can tell you that..

most of the rest of his parts are of sub-standard quality for our cars..

I've been on the fence about ordering that 1.9 pump camplate for my 1.6 pump, for months. I figure it's just a plate with bumps....  that's a simple part to make, right?

correct..

you would think so atleast?

unless they use inferior alloys to cast them. then they would have accelerated wear..

Yeah, but realize that there are rollers riding those bumps, lol.  I'll probably never pull the trigger.  It's not the $35, but all the work that's needed to replace that $35 plate if something goes amiss.

so what are you saying? since there are rollers, the cam plate CANT WEAR? ive torn into several pumps with worn cam plates. not worn beyond use, but you could definitely tell they were not brand new anymore..

those rollers still exert alot of force on that cam plate as it rolls over them. remember, the pump head has some STRONG springs pushing back at the plunger and cam plate..

Todd, IIRC Tyler made comments of tearing down some pumps with the cheapo cam plates (prothe) that were shot in very sort order (maybe like 25K miles?)

I've heard of 'em breaking too.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.
