I started my 1996 AAZ today after a complete rebuild and the Injection pump leaks from the throttle shaft bushing/ o ring. Where can I find a throttle shaft bushing for an AAZ pump.? They're quite a bit taller than the 1.6 pump I understand. Thanks, Paolo
also looking for a harmonic balancer for the same engine, mine's got quite a wobble. Thanks.

Giles at performance diesel will more then likely have the O ring. Check the Samba for the balancer.

Thanks for the response. I'd like to replace the throttle bushing as well as the o ring. Think Giles will have one of those as well. Paolo.

You can get a new balancer for about $70 new online. It's the same one used on the 1997-1998 TDIs. Might also be the same as the more-recent ALH motors too.
Keep an eye on that balancer. After you replace it, you may still have wobble. Be sure to change the alternator pulley to the clutched one if you haven't yet.
You may find that the wobble starts in the crank sprocket. Good luck with that.

Hello quantum TD , I've looked around without luck for a new harmonic balancer. Can you direct me to a site where I can get one and also a clutched alternator pulley. The part no. on my old balancer is 028 105 243 r. It's off a 96 golf AAZ. Thanks in advance, Paolo

I found the harmonic balancer pulley and the alternator clutched pulley. Still looking for a throttle bushing for an AAZ Injection Pump. Also, do I need special tools to put on the clutched alt pulley? Thanks, Paolo

Call your local bosch service center and give them your pump part number.
There is a locator somewhere on the internet.
