I wonder if an 11 or 12 would help

So this is an AAZ that does 154whp at 11psi? No such thing as IDI superiority lol. A TDI could do the same power on 15% less fuel.
tdi wins when it comes to simplicity

the only way a TDI is even as simple as a IDI, is if its converted to use a mechanical pump..if its a stock E-TDI, with 177 wires running it, then no, its not simple..it may be simple compared to a brand new ford 6.7L powersmoke tho..
So there are 8 wires on the pump connector, but oh wait, what's this talk of sensors? Are they bluetooth? Do they talk to the pump directly? Does each one not have2+ wires, each having 2-4 connectors subject to corrosion , deformation, and decay?I'm not afraid of it, check engine lights are my livelihood.

They are your livelihood why? Ease, and simplicity.
Guess you didnt read my post eh? The tdi pumps are still one wire. Also even if you had to swap in a mechanical pump itd still be more simple than an old idi.
