Anyone has a pic showing where the water jacket is in relation to the exhaust port (aaz)
ps:I've tried the search
I know Vince Waldon had a pic of a head cut in half somewhere. I don't know which it was 1.6 or 1.9.
It may have even been on the other site vwdieselparts or something like that.
This may be what you're thinking of... probably doesn't show the details the OP is after though:

If I could find someone local with a good bandsaw I've got a great donor head that was pressurizing the coolant due to a couple very small cracks between the valves and the prechamber... hmmmm.
WOW Vince that's a nice pic ! (save, set as desktop image)

How the hell did you cut that iconel precup in half, you have a source for alien laser technology ?
Sadly it doesn't shows the port enough, well there's a cracked head lying around here,i need it fast so i might attack it with my grinder and do the rest with the good old hand saw
I've never seen that one before. Very cool pic!
Did you knowtice the oil ring

. Looks more like a referance for injector, pre-cup and glow plug.
Did you knowtice the oil ring Roll Eyes
She might have burnt a bit of oil, good compression though.

whats it got? 3 compression rings? and its not a VW piston either, cause the comp rings on a vw are spaced far apart from the scraper and oil rings.. and there in a steel ring land too.
I bet it's a vw head on a different block. No hg either. The top of the piston looks rather strange too.
yea, its definitely not on the right block. the deck should hold the pre cup in more than that.. it should cover almost half the pre cup.
Here it is,this is cil nr1 exhaust.
As you can see the lower side is quite beefy, the side's after the bowl are THIN,where the oil drains are the wall is no more then 2mm !
I have a lot more pic's at different angles so if you want something just ask
