@MontanaGTD: Your project is the sh!t, man!  :P Your heading the right direction. I think just that GTI emblem is wrong. You should get a GTD one.
What about that red stripe grill? It's not stock, is it?

...and that Audi above.... f*ckin' mad!!

btw, here's mine:

1989 GTD JR engine.
It needs a new paint work.

Here's a couple of shots of my 97 Jetta.....

Aren't the grey steels hot??!!

I wanted something different for my winter tires.

And here's a shot of my other diesel......a 2004 Massey Ferguson (the mower on the rear is not mine).

Yes red strip is stock - I hit a Pheasant doing 80mph and smashed the original grill - only had the spare GTi one!

Yeah, original, I meant original... So, it's not.
The red stripe grills are factory setup in the GTI's (some), I know.

There's another chap in York with a Black GTD, all original with only 57K miles on the clock, and his came with red striped bumpers & grill as stock (as well as power steering and a rev counter).
I guess I'll add a few more things to the retrofit list then    :D

Well after monthes of searching, I've finally found my diesel.  She's a one owner car with over 700K on her.  She was built in december of 1985, as a Jetta GL.  PW, PD manual steering, factory foglights, tachometer, factory alloys and sunroof delete.  Everything other than oil changes was done by the dealer (Autohaus of Windsor.  Windsor VW didn't exist back then!!!), til the warranty expired, and then all service was brought to Heinz garage, or parts were bought from Heinz garage and  installed by the previous owner in his garage.  She was oil sprayed yearly, and never parked outside.  Have every receipt for everything ever done...

Her are some outside pics with my other Jetta

Maybe I should take the TD out from Audi and put it in Scirocco. Wouldn´t that be cool 8)

Ok, I´ve done it now :D Scirocco Diesel have been running this summer. Had some troubes at beginning, but now runs fine. Dynoed and tested at quarter mile. Timeslip and dynoslip. We had a little troubles at dyno, did not get torque readings.
Looks like this now. I was at quarter with these tires, thats why so bad time 8)

AAZ Block
1,9NA pistons
1,6 crank
Carrillo custom fitted H-profile rods

Stock 1,6 injectors
Garrett GT2359V with single boost can controlling vanes
Tube header
3" exhaust
Custom intake made of D24 intake
02A transmission with cable clutch setup
Sachs Race pressure plate and stock VR6 clutch plate

nice facts!! for guys who (still) dont believe in vnt turbo's, i think this is the first IDI on board with +200hp, and its just a 1600cc  8)

What boost are you running now and how fast does it spool with the new settings?

normal i could give some feedback about my 1.9 with the vnt25 but i broke another headgasket, probably becouse of a not-flat head.  :?

btw, for what reason did you installed the upgraded rods?

Greetz, Benjamin
SMOG alert, engine running again!
Must make +250hp

Thanks 8)

I´m running ~35-36psi boost. It doesn´t spool instantly, but its pretty fast IMO. I should take a video of it sometime
As for rods... First, there is too many bent rods... Second, these are 20mm longer than stock => better rod/stroke ratio. Third, I got those "cheap" It´s funny how some people bend rods so easily, some will hold good.
