This brings back memories. I bought this exact same car (GL with sunroof, air and cruise as well as upgraded stereo)  brand new from the dealer in 1991, but mine was not an eco, but a full 1.6TD.
That was one sweet car. :)

Thanks Jimmy. That is a pro shot taken by our EEM club photographer Jon Schusteritsch. It was taken last summer.

@ Stewardc Your Caddy looks factory fresh and way nicer than my Jetta.
This car does not have a sunroof, cruise or stereo upgrade, just factory air. It is on it's way to becoming a full 1.6TD.  I bought it from the original owner who opted for the European Delivery Option and picked up the car at Wiegmann VW in Hamburg Germany. He drove it around Europe and put 7,300 miles on it before it was shipped back to the USA. It now has 290,000 miles on it and runs great.

One I took last fall with winter mode steelies:

Weird.  Don't think I've seen this thread before.  from the original post, its tough to decide between a1 and a2.  I've had both.  the gli was always much more comfy, but the a1 is much more fun to drive .... ;D

I still see this sucker running around town.  gli I put a mk1 diesel into

and my current....

Heres my mk1, i pretty much hate this car.. (its not a mk2, damn it)

heres the car that started it all, my very first VW. (81 Rabbit L diesel)

idk why, but i loved my 81, and i hate my 84..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.
