« on: December 06, 2009, 03:20:13 pm »
does it matter which way the TB tensioner is turned for belt tensioning?

do I pull it up, or push it down?

thanks,

I turn mine clockwise, or up, if you will.  It will give more of a wrap on the cam sprocket and also make tightening the nut easier.  If you go down it will tend to want to slacken on you as you tighten the nut.

All vw tensions go clockwise , until the MK 4 2.0 and maybe the 1.8 gassers. They will have and arrow if they go counterclockwise. otherwise always "up"
