anything over 20psi on the K14 would be exceeding thermal efficiency of said turbo.
Might think of getting a VNT or K24

The peugeot 306 came with both those turbos.
On that application its been found that the t2 will spool quicker and is a more robust turbo than the k14.
K14 more easily adjusted however.
General consensus with 306 owners is that the t2 is better.
Im not sure if that helps you vw owners but i htought id give my 2cents.

I dont even know i could have even got my k14 to 30psi let alone 45psi!
26psi was the most i ever seen with wastegate wound in as far as possible....you could tell it didnt like it either....
Is it even possible to reach 45psi on a k14?
?

If the k14 was a steal then you may as well throw it on and hope for the best?
In the meantime while it is on you could search out a t2 should the unfortunate happen?
How did you manage 45psi out of a t2?

all boost reliefs eg BOV, wastegate etc blocked off tight, bit more fuel and alot of right foot

You should be looking for a K24 or a T3 i'd say.

hold on 1 sec, is it 15psi to 1 barr or 7.5??
ffs, my heads up my arse again, 45psi is over 2 barr isnt it?
my T2 made 1,5barr, so thats... 22.5 psi?
