POLL: Turbo or NA? Just out of Curiosity

Seems to be a good mix of all set-ups, just wanted to see some numbers

NA all the way!!!   I like not having extra stuff to go wrong or get in the way... And with my current driving record the inablity to seriosly speed is good..   If I need a power fix I'll drive one of my other toys...

being able to pass cars, and spurt is very good though! unless you tweak your N/A pump, the car is usually quite a dog.  the K24 or T3 has a very good track record if you just run them at stock levels.

if i had a nice shop and the time, i'd probably fab up a permanent magnet bearing turbo. ohhh yea!  you N/A boys would be creaming your pants for one of those  the spool time would be near zero, and the turbo would actually be able to power itself (using pulse motor technology, inductively charging itself) so not only is spool time reduced, but the turbo would actually be running at more than 100% efficiency.  next we'll talk about permanent magnet alternators, and how they consume about 1/2 the HP of a normal alternator.

Well yeah, my pump is molested..  I'll handle most typical and necessary passing okay..  If I need a serious power fix though, I have the Crown Vic PI...

its very interesting indeed. i wish someone would come out with a kit to convert bosch alternators (a permanent magnet rotor hint hint)

My time and tooling is tied up for a while with fitting a hall effect sensor in a slant six distributor, assembling some variety of engine management computer, and fabricating an exhaust manifold so that I can........finish my turbo slant six build..

Actually isn;t such a beast available in the Gm Delco variety..   The one's I'm thinking of were identical to the alternators that GM used in the late 70's to the Mid 80's..  I can verify that this style of alternator is an easy swap onto a non a/c mk1...

N/A by choice and economic neccessity. I have a turbo I could fab together but just want simplicity and reliability for now. I just finished a cold air intake box for a cone filter inside the left air scoop column.  Gave me an extra 10 mph over a long grade I drive all of the time, just with that improvement.  This weekend I pull the double downpipe exhaust off of a donor '74 audi, and I'll see what a 4-2-1 can do.

Also, I guess for me to be part of this poll I would have to have both my eco and n/a "running"

pfft, turbo all the way. there is no such thing as too much boost. i still get 35 mpg with a black stream behind me. and if i can have something to beat on, have a great time, and still get around 35mpg, im gonna stay with it.
