haha alright..so no special tools or anything?
i think you might needs special 12 pt sockets, but i could be wrong... i've never taken a turbo apart b4, but can assume that some are a real pain to disassemble
awesome thanks.. ill give him a call
You mentioned
have a k14 turbo i think (has adjustment right on wastegate)..
which adjustment are you referring to, cause I have a K14 and there isn't an adjustement, just a metal tube. Have any pictures? Curious.

http://vwdiesel.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=15964&highlight=k14+wastegatetheres a picture in that link that shows where its supposed to be although its missing in that picture..on the end of the wastegate is a threaded rod with a lock nut on it..that is where you adjust it
if you take you turbo intake tube off you can see it pretty easily

it looks like you can adjust the wastegate in that pic, but getting it apart might be another story... my best guess would be to put some washers under the nut on the wastegate valve shaft to put some pre-load on the spring, so it would be stiffer.
your best to just install a one of those restrictor valves for the air going to the wastegate... that way it won't open as early.
