what to use- oil feed and return
« on: June 15, 2008, 11:03:34 am »
I have a k14 that im going to put into a 1.6. Can;t find anything to use as far as oil feed and return lines. all i really want is some fitting and then i could use some high pressure rubber hoses.

what have you guys used?

M12 on top and M16 on the bottom. Verify before spending money.

Having hoses that can withstand the heat are as important as pressure. Don't cheap out and get something like air hose, get something rated for hot oil.

Mine came from Pegasus racing - Metric (DIN) to AN adapters. The M16 adapter will protrude too far into the turbo cavity and needed to be shortened and re-chamfered.

Mine uses a male M16 fitting. But like I said, verify what you have first. I think there are at least two oil drain styles - one uses a single M16 threaded fitting, the other a two bolt flange.

Does yours have a roughly 4" long straight pipe coming out the bottom of the turbo? That's what was on mine. Unscrew it from the turbo and you'll see where a male M16 fitting will screw in.

You'll have to measure on your own. I ended up using the existing feed line with the intent of upgrading to stainless AN hardline if I ever need some extra bling in the future.

The drain on mine is short but it's in a Van with the Quantum - down low - exhaust manifold. I'd guess that 2 feet of drain hose would be more than enough but a tape measure is your friend.
