I found these pistons in scrap... the have a 79.48mm(1.9 diesel) diameter... but the connecting rod length/wrist pin diameter of a 1.6 diesel..

They have audi and KS logo on them, and they also have the turbo oil squirter cut in them. i was wondering which engine they are from and if i can use them in a 1.6TD?

yes i also believe they came out of a 1.7L . It's the same bore as a 1.9 but with a 1.6 L stroke.

the 1.7's were not td's IIRC, they were bus motors so they added the squirters and drilled the heads and blocks for better water flow

It has been discussed that you won't have much metal left if you bore it out to that size, but no one has tried it as far as I know.

Jim...  my 1.6 block already has KS cylinder liners in it and i've been using the car for the past 5 years now which means the bore size has already increased... so what if i take the liner out and use KY pistons?
