hi there,
im trying to setup my autometer tach, and cannot use the idle as a basline as this is not standard.
i need to know what the engine will rev out to to set the redline. i have not done the governer mod.
is the figure 4500 or 4800? or something else.
any help would be greatly appreciated... esp from those with GTD's with o.e tachos

the best way to set your tach accurately is make sure your speedometer is accurate using one the radar trailer things the cops let sit along the road, then once u know ur speedo is close to what it should be find the gearing of your transmission and figure out what speed your engine will be at at 60 mph in 5th gear, or w/e and check a couple different speeds in different gears and what not.

haha thanks guys!
not my caddy - a good mate of mines tho, AAZ with T3, pump mods and 2.5" exhaust with no mufflers - just a pipe, runs 28psi of boost
mines a GTD with a T2 and downpipe back 2.25 system (still got the ***ty o.e dp) running 20psi and some pump mods to suit... oh and an AAZ gasket.
only hit 88bhp and 158ft/lb on the dyno. we couldnt get the transmisson loss calculated properly cause we didnt know the RPM at 60!
it should be over 100bhp really i would have thought.
i fractured an injector rail last night so im going for a T3 with a custom 2.25" downpipe going straight to the floor... no side exit were talkin under the car exit
with some head studs and more tuning.
another question - you rekon its worth my while to go to AAZ injectors?
how much boost do you think my setup will take safely and what power should i hit?
thanks guys
ill get you some pics of the caddy from hell

These will fit in the 1.6 bodies as well.
This has a lot of info on this subject

---------------------
this can really depend in fuel settings, over fueling can help lower egt, less fuel can really heat things up again.
i'm running a Sb 1.6 td, kkk14 20psi boost aaz metal gasket, ext oil cooler my egt temp really differ when i play with fuel delivery side of things. i tink im around 100 horses too.
nice cars there BTW, im also a uk'r, pleased to meet you. what area you in?
ps mines T3 caravelle
where was the last photo taken? which show?

pretty sure EGT increases with more fuel. More smoke = higher EGT. Less fuel means the burn will be completed fully and there will be no smoke and much lower EGT
