Blow off valve

Here is a link to what you are after, simple job to do.  I went a step further than in this link, i found some springs with slightly stonger tension
and after about 5 attempts with differant springs i found one that releases the pressure at 19 psi, according to my boost gauge.  The link mod blocks it off completley, ok if you want to blow your engine with too much boost  :(

Go ahead and search for people who have blown up there motors from disabling the blow off valve.  And good luck with that.

The blow off valve is junk.  Disable it or remove it and block the hole.

Virtually every other turbo on the planet controlls the boost via a waste gate or veriable nozzle technology.

And I have yet to see wreakage strewn along the road from all the vehicles that blew up because they didn't have a blow off valve to controll booste.

in the event that your wastegate was stuck closed, the blow off valve would be great for limiting the boost pressure, but what about the egt's?  I'd be more worried about those...

Ok, search for "my waste gate stuck and my engine blew up".

Once again, good luck with that.

My appologies to saurkraut, seems as though he has taken this thread a bit to seriously.  I was replying to a question from another link and hit the wrong button ( new topic ).

So to every one who now thinks that they might blow there engine by blocking off the blow off valve, then i appologise.

Saurkraut, you are right, you wouldnt blow you engine by doing this mod, the EGT might raise slightly.............. but then what do i know............ Factory trained as an apprentice Ford RS Technician, 3 years Jaguar Technician, 11 years Cummins diesel experiance and now a Detroit Diesel / Caterpiller Technician maintaining Airport Crash Tenders and Landrover Rally service crew Technician in my spare time.

"ok if you want to blow your engine with too much boost"

With all that experience, why did you state that it would?
