@larry104: its a watercooled intercooler (water to air IC), there should be a radiator in front of the car to cool the water wich go trough the intercooler.

Yes the LDA top is from a 1.9. The boost pin and springs inside is far from stock. The pump was thoroughly rebuilt by Giles.
The air water intercooler is based on a stock TDI SMIC core.
The inlet (intake manifold, if that's what you're talking about), is from a European PD130 TDI that was imported in the Passenger Performance shop.
Cheers,
Mark

Thank you. Your air inlet disappears in the radiator support. Just wondering about that setup. Have you dyno'd the motor? 1/4 mile times?

Ohh sorry, air intake/inlet.. I should've figured that. It drops straight down before the passenger side headlight. The cone filter is behind the bumper. I had an air scoop next to the bumper turn signal to help direct air to the filter.

Looks like a lot of work but worth it. Nice setup.

Geez, after seeing some of these bays, especially stewardc's who lives not that far away from me, I'd be embarrassed to show mine off.

So you did.
Alright, I'll see if I can get one this weekend. With the snow yesterday, there should be some salt in there too.
My wife will think I'm crazy taking a picture of the engine bay.

Here's mine after the intercooler install...(sorry for the repost if others have seen the other thread)

Looks dirty in the pics. Digipics always seem to expose all the flaws / dirt / corrosion on stuff... I guess it's the flash that really lights up the details.
I'm going to clean things up and reroute some of the hoses / lines for a cleaner appearance here soon. I've got some other pics of "stock" TD engine bays as well if anyone wants to see them for reference. Kind of neat to see how VW did things from the factory.

Its an old picture, since then, pump was changed to TD, and I added boost gauge...
I hope, IC piping will be visible in near future

DELETED
OK, So why do I get deleted?!
It's not a nice tidy engine bay as the swap was still in progress.
http://www.66rover.com/VW%20TD/VW%20TD.htmlSince my shaft is so big, I had to work on the hole for a while, to fit the
bearing in. Some people might get a kick out of my procedure. I posted the
link instead of the pic since somebody deleted the pic and is too lame to tell
me why. It obviously isn't just a VW engine bay thread as there is a zook
in it. I do have a 1.9 IDI. Rant over....
