I think "Dieselgeek" was the first to put a TDI in a Corrado, it was the red one, which also happened to be the one that Tobias owns now that had the engine fire. Lucky for him though it didn't seem to cause a lot of damage. There are at least two other TDI Raddo builds that I've seen, one is a REALLY nice and clean silver one, the other was the one from Nova Scotia.
I'm keeping the VR6 in my Corrado, the Rocco is getting the TDI. The Rocco has about 900 lbs less weight to worry about so I don't need as much HP to go fast.

900 lbs less, is that a mk1 or mk2 rocco? I have a buddy doing a mk1 rocco with a 1.9TD Giles pump and all!!! He should make me work to not be in the soot cloud.

Mine's a mk1. The Mk2 isn't much heavier, though every year the scirocco gained a few pounds. Mine is also mostly stripped so that helps.

MK1 for the win man! I have a buddy doing a 1.9TD MK1 track car this summer, Giles pump ftmfw!! He ran 14's in his MK2 rocco so he is hoping to shave a second and get into the 13's.
Here is a pic of the Rado as of yesterday. I will start a fresh new post one of these days and explain the plans

And here is the mess I am going to be dealing with...

It looks much worse than it really is, I already have all the "crud" out of the bay and the motor should be out tomorrow so I can finish cleaning the bay and get it ready for the TD

Yeah the price was definitely worth it! There are brand new steelies and winter rubber on it that cost over $1200
I gotta sell my 87 coupe and then the Rado will hopefully get a Giles pump and a few other goodies this summer.

Man, I wish our boarder guards were looking for illegals and drugs and left our cars alone. Sure would like the option of driving what you can :-D

Wow seems like everybody in the maritimes is getting diesel crazy these days, good luck with your project. If you're coming to MVOC let me know, we can line up somewhere and have a bit of fun haha.
As for the ship it was known as the Wilcox, it was a supply ship and one of many that saw the end of its life around that island which is surrounded by reefs.
