Did it have CIS? If so which one and is it available?
I have an idea of putting CIS on a vehicle it was never intended for if I can do it cheap. BTW good find and good work.

Wow seems like everybody in the maritimes is getting diesel crazy these days, good luck with your project. If you're coming to MVOC let me know, we can line up somewhere and have a bit of fun haha.
As for the ship it was known as the Wilcox, it was a supply ship and one of many that saw the end of its life around that island which is surrounded by reefs.

Are you far from Lie d'Anticosti ? It would be nice to see close up photos of the ghost ship.
Yeah, diesel power rocks !!

No I live in N-B, but if you search the internet for Ile d'anticosty and Wilcox you can find a few pics.

i put CIS on a toyota pickup with a stock 22r. it felt like it gave it 20 horsepower easy. and that was a completely stock engine.

Well it has been a few months and a few thousand km in my diesel C so it is time for a little update.
Here is a few pictures from a local show and the ride home
Test fitted the Gotti's
And finally safely home with the mandatory log brake
Hope you diesel freaks like this thing, it is going TDI this winter if I have anything to do with it!!

Can you give some more info on that thing? Did you have to make custom engine mounts? What trans are you running? Stock turbo? Stock IP? What TDI are you putting in? Electronic or mech. controlled pump?
Great job by the way.

yea everything just bolts right in apparently. the glow plug system requires moderate electrical skills, and that is probably the hardest thing to hook up.
Why would this be hard if you use a CE2 diesel engine harness? Everything should just plug right in.

Thanks! It was a very easy swap to be honest, I bypassed the fuel pump and threw a diesel sending unit in the gas tank. I used a mk2 CE2 wiring harness and all the engine mounts are the same. I made the mistake of running the 02A G60 tranny and my top speed was a whooping 160km/hr but damn would it ever get there fast
I am running a Garrett T3 from my old 1.6TD, a Ford Ranger boost pin (very aggressive), a slightly modded IP and the set-up is mechanical for now but it is going TDi as we speak! I am rarely on the forums since I am busy becoming a pilot and working on my dubs but I will try to keep this thread going over the winter as I get things working. Cheers

Diesel Corrados FTW! Mine is out on jackstands right now, getting all the basic mods to the 1.6 GTD done after driving it for a little while after the swap. If only I had more time and money...

time and money go out the door when you buy a corrado
j/k they aren't that bad especially when it is diesel!
as for the boost pin i am not too sure what motor the ranger had but the boost pin is great!
i will soon have to switch this thread to the TDi section
