Giles: What are you working on today Tyler?
Tyler: Umm... I think I was working on ***********'s super pump
Giles: OK, carry on then
So I crack it open and hurray, presents

That's the advance spring

And this is what the rest of it looks like
Looks like it has been at the bottom of the Atlantic for the past decade.
I spent all day cleaning it in order to properly assess it, and yep, it's junk.

Yea, that is ugly.
I wasted an entire Saturday going through a friends pump too, except this one was "newly rebuilt" Turns out they left two washers just laying in it which got all ground up. I should mention who "they" are but I am still trying to get a hold of them for a new pump.

what is Junk? Do you mean you cant rebuild it or that there just isn't any good parts and it will all have to be replaced? I am asking because mine that I want to send up to you guys to build probably looks something like that inside.

A lot of the expensive parts are no good.
Driveshaft
transfer pump
rollers
cam plate
etc
Even the head and rotor is questionable on this one, but it would need to be tested on the test bench.
It would be cheaper to have a different core provided.
The pump was siezed solid when we got it.
Has yours siezed?
If you think yours is this bad, call Giles first and ask him what he suggests. He might get you to do some "pre-surgery" to assess it, I don't know.

The funny this is, I sold it to him 4 months ago, and it came from a car that had been running about 1 month before that :?
Actually it's not funny, because now I'm going to be out some money.
