I dunno if its $800 worth of more torque though.. But I bet AAZ's are hard to find in Cali...

There is a guy who sells AAZ (turbo & naturals) in CA for the last 10 years or more. Short Blocks, Long-blocks and Complete drop in engines. They are take-outs from low mileage Germany origin cars. He sells engines and transmissions.Bought from him and am very pleased.Quote from: 8v-of-fury on January 10, 2013, 08:30:25 pmI dunno if its $800 worth of more torque though.. that is where the 1.9 I am considering buying came from.

Accelerates well though. Anyway, of the 5 odd 1.5D's that I've had, that particular one was by far the best. I think it was just 'right'... like compression, valve seats, balancing, etc.
I am running an AUG Trans jus by coincidence, it makes in town driving tolerable but in the hills it seems like I need to downshift two gears at once to maintain speed. I thought about a .71 5th swap but the truck has a hard enough time with the .89 OD it has now. It could be my flatland coast down hill gear maybe?
