GTD (RA, SB) intake manifold

So, I'm collecting all the parts for my new quasi-pseudo GTD. Basically, turboed MF with a GTD top mount intercooler. I have everything right down to the correct clutch cable. I realized that when you rotate the top of the intake manifold 180 degrees, the big hump that would otherwise be on the front of the adapter (stutzen), interferes with the heat shield. The part I have is 068129635. The part that ETKA specifies is 068129635J.
Here's the part I have (on right):
Any chance that there is another adapter say, from an AAZ, that doesn't have this?

you want the adapter from the early MF..
the AAZ and TDI both had EGR, and thats why theres a big bump on them.
the MF never had EGR, so it doesnt have that big bump..
the one on the left, that one is for an EGR motor, late model..
the one on the right, its from an OLD non EGR engine..
that one you have, off the old MF engine, is as small as you get.. only other one i know of, is not a bend at all, but just a straight on hose connection..

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

the aaz elbow i have doesn't have the hump, and it also has a much larger inlet, the casting is much better on it as well, clearly a better flowing piece than the stock 1.6td, it is angled slightly differently tho, i can take a picture tomorrow if you'd like. it fits with stock heatshields facing the drivers side or passenger side too, how ever if you face it away from the turbo, you will need to bend the heatshield slightly.

I ended up leaving the heat shield off when I did my IC install. I suppose I could have modified it to fit or something but I didn't bother.

Thank you for all your input guys. I ended up finding the proper one on eBay.de. I'll take pics when it arrives. Seems strange that vw would make something that only fits two models. You know, given that it would have been more economical to make them all interchange.

I think you want the horn from a longitudinal engine (quantum or van).. I think that's what I'm using. I can post pics. Yes, it points to the drivers side of the car in a transverse application.

I wish it was. It was somewhat expensive. I even had more than a few people bidding against me. That tells me there is a demand or someone had friends artificially increasing the bidding. My thought was just that I had gone through so much trouble to get the appropriate parts that I didn't want to cut corners by cutting that piece off and TIGing it closed.
