The search is your friend... there have been many posts about this in the past 10 months, and longer. Short answer - Air Craft Spruce is one place... I drilled mine the second time in a drill press as the first time the hand drill snagged and cracked the manifold.

That's one option.
The most cost effective i found was this.. These are my own pictures ... (this was pretty dang easy to do also)

http://www.dieselvw.com/EGTGauge.htm

The probe threads in there =D Remember to use antisieze! just be careful not to drill & tap your hole in such a fasion that you cant' fit the probe between the block and the manifold! mine was almost, could have been, a tight fit.

I like the gauge, it's bright, responsive, has a warning light, does a little dance when you give it power :P

Also look for VDO gauges over there.  Save yourself the shipping charge.

WELLLLLLLLLLLLLL

I only have a DP as the exhaust so i ONCE saw 600F but as soon as i backed off the pedal the dial went back to rest.
But you can trick the gauge (when i had it out) into thinking the temp was super hot and the warning light is super bright.
its my brightest gauge by far and the coolest looking. well...
the oil temp gauge totally disappears when the light turns off...
i duno :P
I'll know how well it really works when i get an exhaust pipe on the car but im thinking 1,000F is going to be the hottest for what im running.
I'll post some vids of all sorts of stuff when i insure it.

ps. pride my self on those drillz skillz! you shoulda seen my block! drilled those steam holes like demz were ma bizatches
