1.6TD camshaft and pump questions

The car in question is an '86 TD Jetta.

Ok, so I had slight problem with the camshaft (don't ask, real dumb move) and the only other one I have is off of a 1.6 NA diesel (still a hydro head) So I was wondering if this cam will be ok or will it cause major running/performance issues?  

I was also wonering if there was any difference in the injection pumps between the TD and an older ('89) NA diesel. They have the same fuel advance diaphram on the top, but the NA just uses it for altitude adjustment. (just appears to be the same. Have not cross referenced the part numbers yet)

The cams will interchange as long as both are hydraulic. The pump can be converted to turbo you have to move the fitting for the  boost hose to the top of the LDA housing. Probably should be done by a pump shop to make sure the calibration is correct.

Yeah, I did see that the assignments for the three spots at the top of the pump were in different spots on the two pumps (LDA, a vent and return I think?) I just moved the lines back as they were on pump that came off of the car.

Glad to hear that about the cam, I was just wondering if there would be a power peanalty.
