Is anyone running these on the cars?

yup, I've been running one for a little over a year now. I've had a little trouble with it, like it went into lockup mode so I called tinytach and they told me how to fix it. I really like having it, it's no good for racing though 'cause it responds to slow.

That is really good to know, I have been considering one for a while, the delay would piss me off for sure.

one second delay, plus it's digital which ain't as good. I just looked at they're website and they sold out and then they're gonna sell a better one. :shock:

Yea I read about the delay, but i'm not going to be racing so I can live with it. I figured it would be easier and cheaper just to pick this up rather then hassle with a new cluster.

I use it for the hour meter. I can better gage when to service the oil and fuel filter by the number of hours. Since I am off road mostly and running low speeds the miles are not as important as the hours of use. I like the tiny tac a lot.

Do you remember what sensor you ordered ?? 6mm or 1/4" ?

I think it is the 6mm one, if it's slightly smaller than 1/4inch than I'm pretty sure it's 6mm

Thanks... I'm thinking the sensor + a bit of circuitry = dynamic timing light adapter.

yeah, I just looked at the website and they sell a diesel timing light, all ready to go it cost $469. Way out of my price range :cry:

I just got my tiny tach today. works really well and takes like 10 mins to install. They sent me the new model that reads every 1/2 sec or so. The funny thing is, since I bought the car I'v put like 1500 miles on it and probably never took it past 3k rpm, so when I took it to 4200 it laid a massive smoke bomb that has been building up for a month lol. :shock:

Awesome idea! I was just going to try to use the #3 TDI injector, but it's 180 off from TDC, so this would work much better.

I bought the 6mm one. I dont think it matters witch injector line you use, if you might be wondering.

I was planning on getting one if nothing else for the hour meter.

Then it would be nice to know what RPM I'm running down the freeway @ 80mph.
