Well the saga continues. Got it all back together and on last night, but now there is no output of the pump from the delivery valves and you can see nothing is getting pushed out the return line. I tried priming the pump with my hand vac initially and it led to this question. Is 10 inch of vacuum to much to get fuel flowing (hand vac pump on the fuel outlet)? That feels pretty high feeding from the tank. It also holds that vacuum easily. I am starting to wonder if my filter is plugged since before all this happened, I drained a lot of fuel out of the tank by mistake, and it seems like it progressed slowly from that point.

Good, glad someone can use it.I have a pretty good collection myself, but even then somehow this ad puts me at ease. That I'm not the only one and there are other stashes out there. Not another one of those hard to find parts quite yet, if you know where to look. Real common to find a rabbit with these missing or partially there. I should do a walk-around of my buddy's rabbit, see if any are missing

Don't need em though, so if others do let me know. I already can tell you that the one with the bump on it is gone. One of the members here has claimed it.

These are what I have on hand in the shed. Looks like a couple of pairs of regular ones and a mismatched set of the raised rubber bumper and the other style.Got the new account working for these parts. What a royal pain in the patootie.https://imgur.com/a/fj49VIk

I saw a guy on Marketplace that had a ton of starters. If I can find that again I will link to it and you can contact him directly.

If you've never used it, you will be surprised by how well it evens the idle out.Looks like 2 links to the same video. Good video, nice engine shots. Sounds like it smooths out and idles nice.Oops, didnt mean to double dip on the link (I cleaned it out for you. ORCoaster)In terms of starting, I'll try that. I'll see if I can work on my to do list items soon then provide an update. I wasnt sure about the idle. With no tach or previous tdi experience, I was just going by sound when I adjusted it.

I've also had them where cleaning the vanes and getting them moving didn't mean it would run when back together. That's when I try a helper pump and see if I can get the RPMs up high enough to get them moving. Sometimes that doesn't do it either. But yeah, opening it up and finding even some of the vanes sticky or gummed up, that probably was one of the problems.

Not sure what starter you are using. If it's the starter that came with the AAZ, it's probably already one of the skinny ones. I wonder if one of the small MK4 TDI starters would fit. Got any pictures of the starter you are using? Must only be an inch or so too long right?
