That's a non-AC MK2 setup.
The alternator has the bigger pivot bolt,...
and 65 amp alternator,
instead of the 55 amp A1.
A non-AC, A1 alternator bracket has a longer upper bracket.
I'm going to try an A2 setup on my next Rabbit.
I think the bracket sets the alternator over closer to the timing belt,.. so the neck doesn't need to be as long.
A1 setups don't seem to get the alternator over there far enough to line up properly.
Hey, and you can use power steering with this bracket,.. that's what I caught first,..
thought oh, wow a non-AC, A1 bracket with power steering hole. Rare, but I have one.

Yeah, it might work better on an A1,
than the stock A1 setup.
I'm using one of these on my next Rabbit diesel.

You know the bracket its self is the same as the AC bracket. The only difference is the Alternator ears are 180* out and the steel arm with the teeth (which is the same as the gassers)
I have 5 of those damn brackets..and I dont know why.
I USED to have a Mk1 non ac bracket..its tiny. But its probably chillin out in my basement with my PP stage 2 cam.

I've had a hard time getting the A1 non-AC alternator setup pullys to line up.
The A1 alternator neck is really long, but not long enough,.. belts were wearing out fast because of poor alignment.
I'm putting one of these A2 setups on my next Rabbit.
I know it sets the alternator closer to the timing belt side of the engine so should work better.
Another improvement they made from the A1 to the A2.

well, this setup is currently on my car, and doing well.
I have no alignment issues, the alt works well and it is remarkably simple to install and setup.
for now it is not for sale, as I have it installed on my rig, but come fall(when I will be in a new car) they will be back up for sale.
