Well my big injectors are on there way
. So hopefully within the next week I will have a report on them. Need to wait till they get here 2-3 days shipping and for my new EGT gauge had a theft problem :x . With any luck my new dakota digital box will be in so I can run my autometer tack as well. All this and a new clutch with <8lbs flywheel should make for some intresting runs. (wow it feels like x-mas so much new stuff) Won't have a chance to dyno it within the next month (if the head gasket lasts that long), but I will make some stopwatch passes b4 and after. Oh and if these work I know where to find +80HP marine versions of them. Which ones they are well thats a surprise for after testing 
If anybody has prefered tests they want me to do post up and I will do as many as I can. Keeping in mind that I have no Dyno or G-tech. Just a stop watch, a tach, a gps, and a mesured 1/4 mile. -

I will be there a couple of times this year at least, though probably with the Dodge more then the VW, but it will see some track time.
As far as MPG I would love too, but my odomoter is broken...As I type this I realise that I can use the GPS to track how far I have gone, just have to remember to leave it in the car for a full tank :wink:
The new clutch is here and the flywheel goes to the machinest monday. Hopefully the replacement EGT gauge shows up early in the week as well.
I will post pics of the injectors as soon as I get them and try to find an acurate way to mesure the "hole" size. Any Ideas out there? Then they will be off to be pop tested and set up as nessacary.
I am going to the scale next thursday or friday, and then I will begin baseline testing. So any tests that you want to see done post up. -

It is an 86, factory TD Hyd head, jetta coupe.
-factory 13" steel wheels.
-stock suspension (my GC coilovers are here but the shocks arn't)
-Weight:
(will be added thursday or friday)
-Max fuel screw turned in till almost runaway
-starwheel at the bottom
-#21 fuel pin
-shaved nylon washer for full travel
-electronic boost controler (new to me) set at 23psi no over shoot, wastegate is closed till 23psi its crazy, finished off my clutch in a hurry. :twisted:
-New HD clutch and lightend 210mm flywheel some where around 8lbs, it goes to the machinest tomorrow, so I will post up exact weight when I get it back.
-stock govenor (I had it modifiyed but my altenator died, and the only one I could get in any resonable length of time didn't have a W terminal, that and it was way cheaper that way, and I ordered a dakota digital box to drive my autometer tach, if it comes in then I will re-do the govener mod, if not then it will be factory, and I won't be able to report shift rpm's)
-2.25" - 2.5" Downpipe into a 3" exhuast all mandrel bent.
-CAI Big K&N Cone no passenger side headlight straight into turbo.
-timing set at 1.05mm
- No intercooler I finally got fed up with this 626 intercooler and sold it. I went through like 8 revsions of piping and none of them worked the way I wanted. I am either going to go spearco or have a local shop custom build one for me, but it won't be till the end of may b4 that happens.
I think that is everything if there is somthing else that you can think of ask and I will answer as best as I can. -

No worries, I have a G-Tech Pro RR. I did Cheesetoast's TD here.

They sent me the wrong clutch :x I wanted a 16V pressure plate and an 8V disc and they sent me an entire 16V clutch kit. So I will find out tomorrow how far away the right one is. Malone that sounds great, hopefully the clutch is close or we may have to lay down baselines another time, but I would still love to meet up with another VW Diesel fanatic

So what's this I hear about an 80hp marine version? Turbo, I'm guessing, but I have cheap access to marine vw diesel, and I was wondering what the difference was...

It's not VW marine, they are bosch injectors. The injectors run a 200+hp engine. The +80hp that I was refering to are over and above that. Details will be released after testing.
On aside: new proper clutch is 7-10 days away grrr... but atleast its coming that should give me time to get the new egt gauge in and move the boost gauge to its new home sort out other odds and ends. Hopefully the tach driver will be in as well

dvstar, where did you mount the EGT probe? Preturbo or in the down pipe? I have my turbo and manifold off the car now so it would be prime time to do all that mounting. It doesn't look like I can mount a probe in the manifold anywhere. Also what EGT gage did you get. It looks like we need one that has a short probe as well.

My EGT gauge is pre turbo just B4 the turbo flange, on the underside of the manifold slightly offset to the transmission side. My new egt gauge to replace the stolen one is an Isspro R3607R 2 1/16" guage 0-1800 F black face, white lettering, red pointer. I bought it from Piers Diesel Research for $156.25.
The probe is quite a bit shorter on the Isspro than it was for the auto meter, though they both are adjustable to set the depth of the probe.
The gauge that was stolen was an Autometer Z series 2 1/16", 0-1600 F, black face, white lettering, orange pointer. I bought it off Ebay don't remember what I paid for it.
I found out some other bad news while doing some research today the supposed +80hp marine versions are just a higher pop pressure and are not proven to flow anymore then the standerd version, therefore I highly doubt that they would make any more power then the standard version. :oops: -

Thanks for the EGT info, now to get started on porting my manifold and purchasing a gage and getting it installed.
