Thanks, got your PM as well. Stay tuned for test results. I may have to manufacture some shims to set these up. The 2 spring nozzle holders take a different shim than the "normal" holders. Good thing I have a surface grinder. :D

So these are the 2-stage nozzles... excellent.  Smog, you da man!  :)

If someone could do a comparison of the 2-spring 1.9lTD setup vs. the 1-spring RA/SB, I would love to hear about it.  And did I mention I'd really, really like to see some hp/torque curve comparisons (either chassis dyno or g-tech with RPM sensing).

To reiterate my test results of the 2-stage 1.9lTD setup vs the stock '84 1.6lTD... the 2-stage nozzles gave a nice boost (above 5%) up high, but were notably weaker below 3000RPM than the stock '84 1.6lTD 1-spring'ers.

Smog is selling nozzles only, not complete injectors. I plan on installing the RA/SB nozzles in a spare set of 1.9TD 2 spring injector bodies. If I don't like the way that it works I may try them in a set of single spring bodies or I'll simply remove the second stage spring from the 1.9TD injectors, that way I wouldn't have to bend the lines to fit the short 1.6TD injector bodies...

Soon I will have a Poptester and I'll be able to sell complete injectors on an exchange basis.

Ok let me get this straight will 1.9TD nozzles (AAZ engines) fit 1.6 turbo injectors? is there any benfit if they fit?
will putting the GTD nozzels on regular 1.6 turbo injectors be of any benefit? how about putting any of these on 1.6 n/a injectors? thanks for the help. also how come there isn't a company that makes aftermarket performance injectors for these engines?

yes

1.9TD nozzles on 1.6TD engine SHOULD flow more fuel (no test done about it) and restore driveability/power/mpg on 15+years old injectors

the 1.6d injector body are the same as the 1.6td

It look like 1.6GTD nozzles on 1.9td engine can to do a great job

because there is no need as you can tweak the pump to give more fuel. The point in changing the nozzles is more to restore the spray patern of the injectors; it will cure some of the smoke, bad mpg, bad idle, low power output. But the GTD nozzles will give more power than regular 1.6TD nozzles.

In fact there's no aftermarket performance injectors for the TDI; we sell injectors designed for other TDI model that produce more HP. We put BIGGER injectors on the TDI to trick the ECU; while he think he send 1mg/stroke, the bigger injectors push 1.5mg/stroke. On a TD, you just need to turn up the max fueling screw to do this.

Just to add to your confusion, I have GM 6.5L and 6.2L nozzles that will fit on 1.6D injectors..... (Redrotors tried this and told us it's not a performance upgrade)

I added a picture showing the inside of a 1.6td injector. I will show people how easy it is to swap the nozzles. If your set of injectors is leaking, they will need to be pop-tested for pressure setting.

As you can see, I will be able to get a limited amount of  "Bosio-Fratelli" 1.9TD nozzles from KermaTDI; but they will be more expensive at 100$can each set of 4.

Pretty much, but you still need to test to see if the springs need to be shimmed to get the pressures the same across all four injectors.

The nozzles only will do a part of the job but for max results, you need to have them pop tested for opening pressures.

If you can find a set of spare injectors, you can send them to me and for 10$/injector, I will adjust the pressures and install your new nozzles.

Ok thanks guys...that makes sense.  I have access to a Cat nozzle pop tester...just can't think of what to use to adapt the line to the VW fitting size.  Also I'd need to buy spare injectors and shims.  I think I might just buy reman injectors.  Thanks though.
