MK1 Rabbit 4-door 5-spd 1.6D 308 original miles!!!
« on: July 28, 2007, 09:56:14 pm »
Yep thats right.  I just called on it.  Family selling dads car.  He passed away.  Drove it 308 miles and parked it in a garage.  Has not been started in 20 years.

here is the ad.

"80 VW Rabbit 380 miles, driven home from the dealer, diesel, no rust, new not used, gray with red leather, yes only 380 miles. motivated to sell.  Call for Kathy 1-207-497-3433 Jonesport Maine. "

She said the miles in the ad was a mistake.  It only has 308.
She is sending me photo's by e-mail.  I will post them when I get them.

Her e-mail is:  [email protected]

Ready for the price??????

                        $10,000.00
I have the original sticker from my 85 golf.  It was less than that.  I guess if you dig it, its a once in a life time find.

Wow that's crazy!!! Who buys a car only to drive it 308 miles :? The engine isn't even broken in. Sad to say but anything mechanical will need to be replaced (bushings, hoses, the engine is probably seized, brakes...). But you get one mighty mint shell and interior.

Can't wait for the pics either.

No pics of the engine bay...

Anyway, one wonders how they got it outside to photograph.

I kin imagine the inside of the engine and tranny - clean up to the oil line, rust above...

Someone could really make this into a show car - but I really don't like red leather interiors.

Hummmm..... gift for the mistress, who left him the day before delivery?  I mean, red leather interior >diesel<???

You would think VW would want to buy it back...it looks pretty nice...even the tires are still on it...hmmm...kinda fishy if you ask me.
Waiting for a bigger better diesel to come along.

my thoughts exactly.  i wonder why the shifter knob looks so dirty though...

if i was a millionaire, i would probably pay 20 or 30k for a car that is this mint.

Did any of you catch the Rusty Jones rust proofing sticker in the rear window?  I haven't seen one of those in years!
That roof rack is just way funny.  I have never seen one like that.  Looks like he pimped out his ride and went for the chrome  package
