Can some one tell me what the stock head height from rocker cover gasket flange to botom of head .

I bought a rebuilt head and they milled the head its at 5.200

I know have 3 bent valves and am wondering if its related to the head being milled.

Thanks for the help.

I've heard that these heads are never supposed to be remilled.  Rather a good rebuilt head is supposed to be recast.  I don't consider myself to be an authority on this, it's just what I was told.

although the bently and all sources say not to resurface these heads it can be done you just have to pay close attention to the clearances and possibly use a thicker head gasket if you do have one milled

and to "re cast a head" would require pulling all of the pre combustion chabers, valve guides, valve seats and such out and then melting the head back doen to put it in a mold for recasting, people just dont do that

if the head is warped and in need of milling the only other alternative is to heat it up on specialty equipment and have it bent back, but good luck finding a shop with this type of equipment

sorry i do now know the height on this head, i can measure on for you this weekend though
