the goal: attach a gauge to my pump so that i check on my internal pressure, and use my readings to set the pressure to spec....which i also don't know.

so, i've been reading around on a lot of threds, and have seen pics of a similar setup on a N/A, but i'm still not really sure how to go about this..? The car is an '84 Quantum TD.

Pressure in pump MUST be 43.5 Psi at 1000 RPM engine ---more on this next time.
Pressure at 2000 Rpm -about 75.4 Psi.

I think on my next pump I rebuild I'll just drill and tap a convenient spot on the lid itself...  although with a turbo pump there may actually be no such spot... :)

Short hose to an oil pressure sensor, SPDT switch at the oil pressure gauge on the dash to switch between oil pressure and fuel pressure, and an interesting  ongoing science experiment on dynamic pump pressure under varying driving conditions, temperatures, diesel additives...

So many dreams... so little time...   :?
