hybrid turbo?

I want to build hybrid turbo. Bigger impeller (k26) put into smaller, machined housing (k24). Is it good or bad idea? How does it work if I compare hybrid vs stock turbo?

it can be done it's an upgrade... this turbo won't fit on like the stock one, you'll need a spacer for it to fit. i think when it was discussed before, that it was decided that an aftermarket turbo is a better route, but the k24/k26 hybrid is the cheaper route

what spacer and why?
another question is if this hybrid will be more efficient than stock turbo if I stick with stock small, machined housing?

the compressor housing is bigger and won't fit, the spacer would go between the turbo and the manifold, from what i know. do a search this has been covered before

I want to use stock k24 compressor housing only machined to fit on bigger impeller. What do you think about it?

if you can do it... go for it! sounds to me like quite a bit of machining though... make sure you can get it nice and smooth in case the compressor wheel rubs a little bit... but ideally you don't want it to rub at all!

one more question, should I put bigger cold side and stick with stock k24 hotside, or should I also put bigger k26 hotside?

I'm afraid if stock k24 hotside would make too much exhaust gas pressure :?

No machining required, you need a complete K26 and K24 turbo. Take off the compressor side of the K24 down to oil cooler, then replace with K26 components from that point on: ( flange, compressorwheel, and K24 nut and K26 housing)
