I will be changing both drive shafts and I figure I may as well do the flange seals as well. I think I have the mini-slip thingy as I can see a green sleeve on the passenger side drive flange. Does this change anything about the seal change?
I may also just drop the tranny at this point and put a new rear crank seal because it is leaking. Any tips on this job? Do you need to use new flywheel bolts?
Also, is there anyplace that sells the actual flanges? I can't seem to find them on any of the parts sites.
reuse the flywheel bolts, they are 9mm 12pt bolts
Use a puller or at least a ratchet-strap around the tranny and flanges so you can compress them to get the circlip out. Also, my puller slipped when I pulled off the circlip and the flange fired straight at my head at about 100 mph, would have probably knocked me unconscious if it had hit! Be careful. The "mini-slip" as it's called has much higher spring tension on it.
