Bell housing bolts for a 1.6td, What size?
« on: March 08, 2007, 02:21:24 pm »
Well, this may seem like a silly question.  I will be putting my engines up on the engine stand to start tearing them down.  I bought these already out of the car, no tranny.  I am quite sure more than a few people here have mounted 1.6td blocks to engine stands. SOOOOO..... what size bolts do I need?  Thread pitch and length? It will, I asume need to be longer than stock for mounting purposes. Possibly 12 or 14mm?  I called two dealers, would you believe they had no idea?  One guy told me he thought he knew but didnt want the liability if he was wrong!  WTF!
Anyone have any special tricks or hints for the tear down, or is it just sing along with Mr. Bentley?
Thanks, Jim

I believe 2 of them are M10 and the bottom is M12.  Not too sure though.
