Timing belt was off and I had to move the car. My buddy started pushing it before I could take it out of gear. I can't remember if the motor turned or not. I was screaming STOP! freaking out, knocking over children and senior citizens, diving in thru the window to yank on the shifter...
In any case, assuming the car rolled a foot in first gear with no timing belt, when I pull the head off, is there a chance theres damage that isn't visible?
Any thoughts appreciated, thanks
How far could he have moved it with the car being in gear?

I dont think there would be any damage...but then again Im not 100% sure!!!
moved about a foot, i think at the most
if there is any damage, its probably not too bad... what gear did you have it in??? 1st gear has a locking safety so the car doesn't roll... if you had it in say... 2nd gear then you could worry a little bit.
good point, i have no idea what gear it was in. I know it moved a bit tho.
what a dumb ass way to start a project
I towed one witht the cam locked, and it ran after. a lot of revving somewhat straightened the bent valve/s a bit, and it ran even better.
Don't be too afraid
well if you lock the cam, isn't that the position where the valves stay closed??? that should be fine then
