how can i check that the glow plug system is getting power? i connected a multimeter to the connectiosn at the fuse under the hood and got someone to turn the ignition to where the lights come on, and nothing, tried hte same at the first glow plug on the far right, nothing. Pulled the relay, it looks brand new, any thoughts?
The relay socket can get pushed out of its housing by the relay. That should be the first thing you check after checking the glow plug fuse under the hood. The power comes from one of the two smaller wires on the battery terminal. When you say the relay looks brand new, don't all of them look newish? My car has 382K km on it and I only have 1 non-OEM fuse and all the relays look new.
Cheers, Steve
i poped off the cover and inside looked perfect, also, it was replaced in the last few years, have a receipt from the previous owner, i will check the back ot make sure the socket is in ok

hmm socket seems fine, everything is tight, the glow plug light on the dash does come on like it should, i just don't think the glow plugs are actually getting any power, if i was testing the wires right
hmm, now that i pull out the receipts again, the relay wasn't actually changed, just the fuse a few times.
Perhaps i'll try a new relay?
thats what i would do next
