I was out in the back yard today TRYING to pour all of my used 15w40 into a pail but it was slow going. It was 0C and the oil was quite thick compared to my gas oil...you guys better get some Diesel 10w30 or a synthetic diesel oil in your engines soon.
Have fun out there...
Steve
Did mine today also. Straight 30w Shell Rotella. Oh I'm down south. It was 74 F here today.
I just dump it out of my hot engine and pour it into my fuel tank before it has a chance to cool...
Kidding....maybe
What kind of oil do you guys use?
Changed mine last Friday from Delvac 1300 after finishing my Auto-RX rinse phase. Made a mix of Amsoil S3000 5W-30, 2 quarts, Amsoil 5W-40, 2 quarts, and half a quart of Castrol Syntec 0W-30, aka German Castrol, SLX, or the green elixer of lubrication . Those who frequent bobistheoilguy know what I'm talking about. Combined it becomes a thin 40 weight when hot (awesome for mileage) with a pour point of around
-50C.

whoa, you're more intense than I ; :!:; what a brew !!!
vwmike, you need to get one of the kits they have for the 'big-rigs' that provides continuous oil change via a little injection into fuel system all the time while driving. (how does it know the good stuff from the bad.. :?: ..)
I use 20w50 Castrol in Mechanical engines, and 15w40 delvac or Delo 400 dino in Hyd. They each also get 1 qt synth at each change, and frequency is 3000 for mixed driving, 5000mi for hiway. If I used full Synth, I would do oil analy, and likely change every 20k, but filters @5k with a whole fleet, I'm always changing oil. especially when it isn't raining, like today! (only 80 days / year w/o rain)
