I'm looking for a no ac alternator setup for my 1.6td.
IIRC you folks up north had the option of a 1.9 without air, and with serpentine alternator setup.. is that correct? Even if I'm wrong, just a v belt setup would be great too..
Let me know what's out there..

alternator bracket

I don't know what your 1.6 is in. No clue from your post or in your sig.
...but Add's alternator bracket is off an A2. it will work for either an AC or non AC setup.
Each setup uses a different alternator. Non-AC being the 65 amp with mounting holes opposite each other.
AC alternator is 90 amp and has holes at about 60 degrees.
I used this bracket, an adjuster bracket from a digi2 and an alternator pully from...
a '93 Ford pickup??? to put the 90 amp alternator on a non-AC setup.
It's all documented in my post on vwdieselparts.com.
Searching author: fatmobile
90 amp alternator
should get you there.

sorry bout that.. it's in a mk2.
I have a couple of what I thought were "w / air brackets.."
I am ashamed to admit I had no idea they only had one bracket for air / non air. Now I'm curious what the factory adjuster bracket looks like..

There are a few serp options if you want...
Another (which I have on the m-TDI setup) is using a 1z/AHU crank pulley, or a AAZ serp crank pulley with a 8v 2.0 ABA non/AC serp water pump pulley (can be ordered online, with the correct serp belt for less than 50.00), and a 2.0 alternator on either a 1z/AHU or even possibly the ABA accessory bracket. This gives you the option of the 90 amp serp alternator or the 120 serp alternator as well. Only differece between the 1z/AHU and ABA gasser 2.0 accessory brackets is that the ABA bracket lacks the extra "ear" that the injection pump bracket attaches too on the front of the motor...no biggy if your 1.6
Just a thought...

it can be done for far cheaper than the ABF setup using the ABA stuff...just not as "clean" since the ABA bracket would still have the A/C compressor mounting ears on it, etc...
Serp is SOOOOO nice though...

No, I don't believe it will... its very similar to the 1z/AHU bracket with the exception that it lacks the extra "ear" that comes up off the bracket and then allows you to bolt the accessory bracket to the injection pump mounting bracket on the 1z/AHU configuration.
Only mod I made really to mine which was the 1z/AHU style unit was that I grinded away and sanded a portion that was there from the casting marks so that I could easily remove the pump timing set pin from my cummins 4bt pump base that I used on my setup. Without its removal, it'd hit the bracket and involved taking the whole bracket off or the pump to remove the bolt...
ABA bracket...
