Quick question regarding the eMiata toolset; what's the scale on the dial indicator?
Goes from 0-100 clockwise, small dial in the face from 0-10 clockwise, and the two sets of numbers on the face are "->| |<- .001 in" and "0-1.0 in".
I'm assuming this means that each individual tick mark on the big dial is .001" as the distance between the vertical lines is about the same as the distance of the arc between individual marks, but what's the small dial for?
Just seems a bit strange, all the timing measurements I've seen are given in mm and the recommended vendor's gauge is in inches.
the small one is in .100 of an inch if it is not metric the big face is of corse .001 graduations, there are timing setups in imperail mesure.
Personly I think non metric is more accurate, this is my opinion I could be WRONG

That's what I've been slowly, slowly coming to realize, the purpose of the two faces.
And I can convert the mm measurements to inch measurements fairly handily enough; excellent.
My thanks!
some older mittchell manuals show the timing setup in imperail, ceria 1986, trying to get that book. no luck so far
