Hey guys i'm new to the diesel world and recently picked up a 94 diesel golf. I purchsed some lubro moly diesel purge and I just had a few questions about it. I found a site for TDI's on how to run the pruge through your engine and was wondering if it would be the same for my car? Also has anyone ever required 2 bottles like the bottle of lubro moly warns. Keeping in mind that my golf has 300 000km and I'm sure it has never been done before. Thanks a lot guys I appreciate any help as diesel are completely new to me.

hmmmm.... i think it would be beneficial to have some tee valves to switch to diesel purge... purge the pump every 6 months or so? not a bad idea if its only 10 bucks a can or so... even 20 bucks, its cheap insurance...

the stuff does wonders imo, in my old motor i ran it through and it reduced smoke increased power and made it run a hell of alot smoother. i mean if someone that didn't know my car well had ridden in it before and after, they would probably notice nothing or very little, but since i drove it all the time an di knew exactly how it pulled and exactly how it idled...

napa has it for 11 a can

ive ran it through my idi 97 td in the same manner as described for the tdi

works great

Awesome thanks a lot guys.

I picked up a can for 10 bucks at a local euro parts store where I get all of my BMW parts. It's in Alymer quebec called euro pieces. Probably not very helpful for all of the people who don't live in Ottawa/Hull region.

You can buy the stuff through world pac outlets, like carquest or others. It should be $10 range, I asked Giles about it he kinda warned to add some lube to the can if you use it as it is pretty dry stuff. I love the product HOWEVER if your injectors are worn out it may cause hard starting as it did on a Benz I have-it would not start after, the injectors were to far gone and the dirt was clogging the tips after running the purge...works well on every VW so far I had to buy a case of 20 to get a decent price so I use it alot!

I hooked up everything as described in the tdi post and when I started the car up it drew no purge through the line. When I gave it some gas the engine would starve of diesel and shut off. Any ideas what I did wrong? Thanks

my guess is that you got the suction and return hoses mixed up

for your aaz (if i remember) you want the 2 prongs that are closest to your passsenger mirror

sorry man I have no idea what aaz means.

But I tried running the lines both ways and neither of them worked properly. I hooked it up to the only 2 lines running from the engine. any other ideas? thanks

if your pump is starved of diesel you may need to re-prime it now.

there should only be two lines coming from the pump... the sending line and the returning line.

the returning line will go through your fuel filter to 'heat' it with the return flowing diesel.

you want to tap into the lines before they reach the filter. you shouldn't even need to know which line is which, but mark it before you splice into it. just make sure that both hoses sit at the bottom of your makeshift can.

well, im not sure about that, but...

how about taking the fuel filter off, draining it, then refilling with the purge, hooking it up and running it?

also, aaz is your enginen code

You won't get the full benifet this way because alot of the purge is returned from the pump, if you have your lines hooked up it will just go to the tank and mix with the diesel. By running it out of the can you use the whole can

yea the idea is to use the 100% diesel purge to clean the injection pump. won't work nearly as good if its diluted with diesel. some people have said that black liquid comes out of the return line into the can as well... kinda wanna 'purge' that asap too
