The purge didn't hit the pump I had the filtered line hooked up from the container that held the purge to the line that feeds the engine. The second line was coming off of the return line and feeding the make shift can holding the purge. Thanks for all the suggestions so far guys.

also when your running it through rev it up and down, not like flicking the throttle back and forth, but just hold it at different speeds sometimes, and i definetly would say it's not a bad idea to let it sit with the purge in not running for half an hour or an hour or w/e

hmmm thinking more about this... maybe your pump is sucking air from a bad seal? how did it run before? make sure you top it up with diesel fuel soon so you dont get cavitation on the inside...

you are supposed to put a bit of diesel purge in the hose are you not??? (pump does not like air)
